Make sure that your institution and clinical setting will accept the shared responsibility of training a perfusion student.
Determine how many students at a time, or per year, your facility can accept, considering staff and caseload.
Contact a perfusion program to discuss possibilities and determine whether it will be the right choice for all parties involved, especially for the student.
Keep in mind that some perfusion programs use clinical affiliates outside their state/region, if your facility does not have a perfusion program in close proximity.
